Fitment:1978-'91 HD® big twin Custom engines using S&S® crankcases. Features and benefits: Same width oil supply and return gears as the stock HD® aluminum pump. S&S® pinion and oil pump drive shaft drive gears increase potential oil volume delivery by 25% over stock on 1972 and earlier engines. Machined with an oil pressure relief bleed off passageway & relieves pressure build up on top of the valve to maintain consistent oil pressure. Oil pressure regulation bypass routes excess oil directly to the supply side of the pump & reduces the amount of oil returned to the tank, less foaming and cavitation. The standard pump cover allows total flexibility for oil system configuration with a number of oil feed and return options.Offered primarily for scratch built applications where the builder is usually starting out with aftermarket crankcases and needs all of these parts. Also be applied to older engines where a complete overhaul requiring all new parts is to be performed. Kit Contains:Complete oil pump assembly, Mounting hardware, fittings and gaskets, Instructions, Pinion shaft pump drive gear, Oil pump drive shaft gear, and Breather gear.

  • Kit includes oil pump, universal cover with top and bottom feeds, mounting bolts, supply and return gears, drive shaft with keys and snap rings, check ball and spring, pressure relief valve and spring, check ball and release valve cover screws with O-rings, miscellaneous hose fittings, plugs, screws and gaskets
  • Standard covers feature top and bottom feeds, universal covers have a number of oil feed and return options, allowing maximum flexibility for customized applications
  • Pump features a smoother design and pressure relief towers that are .300" shorter than the OEM oil pump
  • Accepts 3/8" rubber oil lines
  • Oil pump rebuild kit available separately

  • '73-80 models may require drilling; use drilling jig PART # DS-197009 (sold separately).

    NOTES: *Pinion shaft gears included in these kits fit stock 1984-’89 pinion shafts and S&S pinion shafts for 1984-’99. Will not fit stock 1990-’99 straight pinion shafts. Standard style covers have feed and return holes in the stock locations. The universal cover has a number of oil feed and return options, allowing maximum flexibility for customized applications. Chrome Plating the Pump – It is extremely difficult to chrome plate an oil pump without getting chrome in the passageways, cavities or on the machined surfaces where the gears, check ball, and pressure valve operates. Chrome in these areas as well as on the gasket surfaces impairs the pumps performance by altering the operating tolerances machined into the parts. In addition, abrasive particles of chrome may break loose causing damage to the pump and the engine. Because of this, S&S does not recommend chrome plating the pump body or cover. S&S voids its warranty if these parts are chrome plated.
